Businesses Don’t Move to
New Levels — People Do
Clients Forever Coaching Explanation
I have nothing to send you about how I coach. There is only a handshake agreement.
These are the details.
Coaching with me begins with the question “What would you want from a coaching relationship regardless of who it is?
Using your answers we build a format just for you.
Normally, you’re looking at a year-long commitment…but…you can stop anytime you want, no hassle, no penalties, no consequences. If our working together doesn’t work for you (or me) we’re done. On the other hand I have clients who have been with me for 8+ years which at least implies it’s working for them as it may also work for you.
The basic structure is we have a 75-minute (plus or minus 15 minutes) phone call once a week for 12 weeks (see exception) then once every other week for the remainder of the year. We should end up with 28 – 32 calls in a year. The call is normally at the same time on the same day of the week. The exception is that I’ll consistently not be available the 4th week of any month.
We’re not going to get hung up on how many days we talk. It will all work out. In addition to our regularly scheduled calls you can call or e-mail anytime you want as long as you don’t abuse the privilege.
My job is to meet you where you’re at and help move you to where you want to be. On the surface this includes working on 5 areas.
The first is Business or Career Development, helping you identify and use the best tools you can use in order to have your business become more predictable.
The second is Personal Development which is helping ensure that you remain comfortable and confident with being yourself.
The third area is Organizational Development which is really about managing your results through time. My experience is that most Financial Advisors can do their entire workweek in 2 1/2 days.
The fourth area is working on your incompletes. It’s the incompletes in your past that keep the past in place. A “past in place” tends to prohibit ease in moving into the future or even being present in the moment.
The fifth area is “stuff”. Stuff tends to be highly valuable for using practical tools to get better results with the challenges in your life. Stuff is simply situations you find yourself in where having a confidant or another objective viewpoint is helpful.
These discussions are powerful because they normally are centered on a current, relevant situation. The guidance is usable right now.
All of this is on the surface. Under the first surface layer is a fairly consistent conversation that works on your self-belief, confidence, love, joy, and peace. Most people feel the difference even though they may not even recognize that it’s occurring.
And then there are the conversations themselves. There’s a 3rd level of conversation that keeps you focused on openness, optimism, possibilities, and beliefs. I tell you this in all candor even though this level of conversation isn’t always noticeable to most people.
My job is to be like a catalyst and a tuning fork. A catalyst makes things happen more rapidly. A tuning fork keeps you ringing true to yourself.
You’ll have to contact me to find out the current monthly fee. I charge credit cards on the first of each month. It’s the same fee even if we end up talking nearly every week of the year. It’s also the same fee if between the two of us we only talk once in a month. It’s a good deal and a worthy offer.
I nearly always suggest that you also enroll yourself in my REAL Life Optimization Intensive. It answers the questions “Who am I?” “What’s worth doing?”, and “Who’s worth doing it with?”. It’s four days usually held in my home-town of Mt. Shasta California. It’s the best work I’ve ever done.
And, I think this is it!
I’ll wait for your call…at least for a while.
Warmly,
Doug
